Pastor Search

The Congregation of the Good Shepherd (COGS), an interdenominational community of English-speaking, expatriate Christians in Beijing, China, is seeking an ordained minister to pastor its congregation for an initial term of three to five years, beginning mid-summer, 2010.

The successful candidate, male or female, will be an ordained minister in good standing, having served the church in parish ministry, and experienced in, or having particular sensitivity to, ministering in an interdenominational community; international experience would be an advantage.

The total remuneration package is approximately US$70,000 per annum. This includes salary, housing allowance and utilities, local travel in and around Beijing as well as mid-term home leave expenses and continuing education expenses for the pastor. Regrettably, educational expenses are not included.

General information about COGS and Pastoral Roles is outlined in the accompanying Church Profile and Key Pastoral Roles documents (in MS Word format for download), which are also posted on COGS’ website, http://www.cogs-bj.org.

COGS invites interested candidates to apply in writing by email to The Pastor Search Committee at COGS.PastorSearch@gmail.com

The deadline for expressing interest is January 31st, 2010; potential candidates will be contacted for further information and interviews. COGS hopes to select a candidate by mid-April 2010 so as to allow the new Pastor to settle in by mid-Summer.
